BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker in a temp position for our client based in Cardiff,East Cardiff.

The successful candidate should be a proactive and hardworking individual with prior experience within a role,must have solid safeguarding ,child protection experience and be confident with court proceedings.

Job Role:

• Responsible for promoting and quality assuring effective assessment

• Care Planning

• Intervention and review for children in need

• Looked After Children and Child protection situations.

• Responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of systems

and for providing a consultation role on practice issues to ensure quality of service.

• Responsible for delegated decision making in the absence of team/service managers.

Skills:

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures

• Knowledge of models of intervention with Children and their families

• Ability to assess and manage risk

• Ability to reflect and identify possible solutions to problems

• Understanding of Child Protection procedures

• Advocacy skills

• Ability to work positively to achieve change

• Ability to audit and quality assure and to make use of performance information

• Ability to enable learning and professional development in practice and to motivate others

• Leadership and negotiation skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Competent IT user

• Commitment to developing practice in order to improve outcomes for children

• Commitment to the principles of partnership and of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice

• Able to work in a flexible manner to meet the needs of the service

• Ability to drive

Education and Training:

• A recognised social work qualification and registration with the Care Council for Wales

• Post Qualifying Award

• Practice Teaching Award

• 3 GCSE's,Grades A-C or equivalent including English and Mathematics

• HCPC Registration

Specific Experience:

• Working with Children and their families

• Supporting/coaching other staff/students/volunteers

• Practice developments and project work

• Working at a Senior Social Worker level

• Supervisory experience
