BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Care Worker (Adult Services) Social and Healthcare Unqualified in a temporary to permanent position for our client in Vale of Glamorgan Council.  The successful candidate should be a proactive and hardworking individual with prior experience within a role.

Principle Accountabilities a Care Worker (Adult Services)

Carry out agreed care plans (including personal and physical care) and maintain records as required

Always work to departmental policy on the relevant client grou

Complies with departmental procedural requirements on Health and Safety, confidentiality, equal opportunities, etc. always relating any issues or concerns to a line manager.

Supervises clients or assists with the administration of medication to the required dosage. Arranges for and collects repeat prescriptions as appropriate and attends to any medical appliances used by clients e.g., catheter bags, external urinary devices, callipers or surgical corsets (subject to departmental policies).

Acts as designated worker and contributes to the review process of individual clients, assisting in the preparation of reports, as directed by line manager

Attends/participates in meetings/case conferences as required

Assists people in the planning and preparation of meals in accordance with agreed care plans and departmental policies.

Assist people with general social and domestic tasks such as shopping, laundry, cleaning, in accordance to agreed care plans and departmental policies.

Provides practical support and assistance to people making a transition in their living arrangements and assists in instruction and training of daily living skills.

Assists individuals with correspondence, finances, and personal budgeting as appropriate

Acts as an escort to individuals or groups of clients, from within the service group

Assists people to deal with behavioural difficulties or vulnerabilities

Participates in staff training and development and attends team meetings as requested

Undertakes administrative tasks associated with these duties

Assists and supports carers and other statutory, voluntary, and community bodies where appropriate

Other Requirements

You must have an existing Enhanced DBS
