BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Resident Liaison Officer (SO1) in a temporary to permanent position for our client in Enfield.  The successful candidate should be a proactive and hardworking individual with prior experience within a role.

Purpose of the Role a Resident Liaison Officer:

To facilitate the development and implementation of major works schemes by designing, co-ordinating and undertaking effective consultation, ensuring access to properties, ensuring high quality service for tenants and leaseholders in respect of information provision, and action on special needs and choices of residents

Ensure that residents’ needs are met within the delivery of the major works schemes.

To be the principal co-ordinating link with residents on major work projects. 

To liaise with technical staff, other departments and contractors and their representative in respect of improvement schemes to Council properties to ensure that work is undertaken in accordance with agreed briefs, specifications and quality standards and the agreed Framework for Resident Consultation on Major Works Projects, Customer Care Policy, Complaints Procedure and safety standards.

Engage with tenants and support agencies so that tenants have appropriate support to facilitate access for major works.  This is particularly important where vulnerability and special needs are identified.

Work with the Project Managers, Tenancy Management Team and Anti-Social Behaviour Team to contribute towards the successful delivery of the capital programme, including aiding resolve access difficulties.  Ensure that local knowledge about tenants’ circumstances is considered during the scoping of major works.

Accountabilities a Resident Liaison Officer:

In conjunction with Project Management/Officer, develop and co-ordinate a plan for each major works scheme ensuring that the there is sufficient time to consultant properly with residents and Councillor. Also, that adjustment have been made for identified individual needs which have been identified.

Ensure that Neighbourhood Management are properly consulted, and their views considered when developing the scope of works within schemes.

Organise and participate in public consultation meetings with residents, and keep them fully informed as to the scope, nature, timescale and progress of schemes.  Where appropriate, recommend provision of special facilities.

Visit tenants during daytime and evenings and undertake surveys to provide an input into project briefs in respect of residents’ special needs and choices, where on offer. 

Attend all project team meetings to ensure resident’s needs are considered

Completion: attend handover were requested and assist residents in moving back to their property where necessary and agree all associated costs.

Complete customer satisfaction surveys at handover.

Be fully conversant with IT applications within the team and ensure their full and effective use.

Contribute to the development of procedures for the major works programme as a whole

Ensure that Councillors are kept informed of the progress of schemes affecting their wards.

Any other duties reasonably requested by management

Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures
