BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for Educational Psychologist in a temp position for our client based in Wokingham. The successful candidate should be a proactive and hardworking individual with prior experience within a role.
Service Purpose of the Educational Psychologist:
To deliver an effective, evidence-based range of psychological services and psychological interventions to children and young people and their families who are resident in Wokingham borough. The service supports the LA in meeting its statutory duties in regard to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) individually and strategically. The service supports educational settings to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND or barriers to their progress and well-being. At all times to promote and safeguard the welfare of children who live or access services in, or who are looked after by, Wokingham Borough Council.
Ensure the delivery of educational psychology services and interventions that are based on sound research and evidence with regards to:
Statutory work associated with Education Health and Care needs assessments and the requisite written work and attendance at meetings.
Non-statutory work associated with meeting the needs of children and young people with additional needs including mental health and well-being needs as identified by their educational setting.
Providing psychological advice to a group of mainstream primary, secondary and special schools and specialist facilities.
Ensuring the voice and views of children and young people with whom we work is heard and acted upon when this is in their best interests
Maintaining up to date appropriate secure records on the children and young people who access the service.

Qualifications & Experience
A doctorate in educational psychology OR An Honours degree in Psychology or recognised equivalent, which entitles the holder to graduate membership
of the British Psychological Society and HPC
Experience gained either through previous/current employment as an EP role OR via professional training
